The CC Golf Academy has a stairway in place so that every junior can join in at whatever level they are at. From first experiencing golf at school or at one of our FREE taster sessions the young golf enthusiast can climb as far up the stairway as they would like. We have many juniors who have started with us at a very young age and have kept climbing. One of the most important parts of the process is getting the kids out onto the golf course. Our golf camp days do this with ease as do our academy fun competitions of which we have over 40 each year. As addictive as golf can be it is important to note that no matter how dedicated they become it is still important for youngsters to play other sports while they are growing and not to specialise until they are well into their teens.
We offer a number of different golf days and events to introduce children to the game:
Kids Fun Golf Days
Kids Fun Golf is all fun and games. A number of team activities are played and are designed to give children an easy introduction to golf. A mix of plastic and real clubs and balls are used, safety zones and a point system that encourages all to have fun. The coaching is kept simple making it perfect for large or small groups of children. It is perfect fun for boys and girls aged 6 and above. Find out more.
FREE Junior Golf Taster Sessions
We understand that children can go through fads and that parents may be reluctant to enroll their children into what can be perceived as an expensive sport. (It’s not really!) So we provide free children’s golf lessons every Saturday of school holidays, just so that you can try golf without spending any money. Find out more.
Junior Golf Academy
The Junior Golf Academy was created to enhance the learning of juniors who were not yet ready for a CONGU handicap and 18 hole tournaments. In 2006 there were around a dozen members and one tournament. There are now over 100 current members and over 40 fun tournaments are played each year. Our junior academy members have gone on to become Club Champions, Sussex Champions, NCAA Division 1 players and even the current world number 1 ranked golfer with a disability used to attend our weekend junior coaching and summer camps.
The Junior Golf Academy has over 100 days of activities throughout the year. There are 8-week coaching series in Spring, Summer, and Autumn that tie in with the school term, Golf Camps during school holidays, 6 Championship Tournaments with 6 different age groups, 4 seasonal Junior/Adult Foursomes (which incorporates their own Order of Merit), 12 9-hole Stablefords, 7 x Summer Pairs events, 8 Junior/Adult Scrambles and 5 Winter Pairs events. All the children that are part of the Junior Golf Academy are encouraged to take part in many of the activities no matter how young or inexperienced as the events have been specifically created and engineered for them.
